Dear Friends and Supporters,
Following Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month in September and KLF’s annual lunch, the Foundation team has been busy behind the scenes working on various projects over the last weeks.
Our HPV immunisation & education programme for private schools has just commenced with the ISF Academy and has seen a fantastic vaccination uptake rate. We are also excited to announce a new edition of “Cocktails for a Cause” which will be held on November 7, 2019 at our new location, Picada in Central. Additionally, we are working on promotional videos for Project Teal – Phase III, for which we are looking for volunteer protagonists to act in the promo clips.
With that, we leave you to read and scroll through our autumn newsletter below.
Warmest,
Katharina & the KLF Team

Programme Updates
Teal video project – Volunteers needed
Project Teal is a programme with multiple organisational partners which aims to decrease the incident rate of cervical cancer within Hong Kong. Project Teal Phase 3, combines a clinical study together with free access to screening and aims to assess the effectiveness of self-sampling with a specific focus on women who are reluctant or unable to attend regular cervical cancer screenings.
For phase III, we are looking for the following volunteer protagonists to act in our promotional videos:
Boys and girls between 8-12 years of age (Cantonese speaking)
Women of Asian ethnicity, yet English speaking and working in financial services/business
Women from ethnic minorities and/ or foreign domestic workers
Filming will take place in the last two weeks of October 2019. If you are interested in learning more about how to get involved and help us communicate the prevention message, please email us or simply give us a call on 2874 7765. No prior acting experience is required.
HPV immunisation & education programme for private schools
In 2018, the government announced the first publicly funded HPV vaccination programme starting from the school year 2019 / 2020. However, the government programme will only cover Primary 5 girls. In other words, the soon to be launched government programme will not cover older girls or any boys.
Therefore, KLF continues its preventative efforts with the HPV immunisation and education programme for private schools. This programme will provide at-cost HPV vaccination and health education for both parents and students, while also including a community element.
If you are interested in bringing the programme to your child's school - please email us here.
