Born in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, in 1956. After graduating from the School of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University in 1980, he joined Mitsubishi Corporation.

In 1989, he was transferred to Mitsubishi Corporation Europe & Africa Headquarters; in 2001, he became General Manager of the Corporate Communications Dept, Mitsubishi Corporation; and in 2010, he was appointed Executive Officer and General Manager of the General Affairs Department. In 2014, he was appointed Executive Vice President /Corporate Functional Officer.

After concurrently serving as General Manager, Kansai branch in 2017, he joined ASICS Corporation in 2018. He served as a corporate Advisor, then as President and COO, Representative Director in March of the same year, and as President, CEO & COO, Representative Director in March 2022. In January 2024, he assumed the position of Chairman, and CEO, Representative Director a role he continues to hold today.

1956年愛知県名古屋市生まれ。80年、早稲田大政治経済学部卒業後、三菱商事入社。

89年、同欧阿三菱商事（ロンドン）赴任、01年同本社広報部長、10年執行役員 総務部長を経て、14年代表取締役 兼 常務執行役員 コーポレート担当役員に就任。

17年関西支社長を兼務後、18年株式会社アシックス入社。顧問・同年3月代表取締役社長COO、22年3月代表取締役社長CEO兼COOを経て、2024年1月より代表取締役会長CEOに就任し、現在に至る。
