Patrick Rial is the manager of the Hosomichi Fund at TriVista Capital, a constructivist strategy focused on small-cap Japanese stocks.

He was a Senior Analyst at boutique fund Varecs Partners from 2015 to 2025. He began his career as a financial journalist before transitioning to finance, first with Morgan Stanley and subsequently with J.P. Morgan.

He holds a BA from Georgetown University and has lived in Japan since 2003.
