Hideki Kinuhata is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of SILQ Capital, a Tokyo-based, Japan-focused fundamental long-short investment manager. Founded in 2019, SILQ Capital launched its flagship strategy in September 2020.
Prior to founding SILQ Capital, Mr. Kinuhata spent 24 years at Goldman Sachs, where he became a Partner and built an extensive career across trading and investment management. From 2018, he served as Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Goldman Sachs Investment Partners (GSIP) Global Public Equity Portfolio. He was part of the founding management team that established GSIP in 2007, and from 2008 he co-headed GSIP’s Pan-Asia Portfolio, which he helped launch. In 2013, he became Co-Chief Investment Officer of Oryza Capital, GSIP’s dedicated Pan-Asia fund.
Earlier in his tenure, Mr. Kinuhata was a member of the Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies Group (GSPS), which he joined in 2003, leading its Japan portfolio management for three years from 2005. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in 1995 as an equity and equity-derivatives trader.
Mr. Kinuhata holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Keio University (1995).
