Dan is a small & mid cap expert with 26 years of experience in international (ex US) small & mid cap markets, the last 20 years of which were spent as lead portfolio manager & analyst on the International Smaller Companies and Japan Smaller Companies approaches at Wellington Management Company. Dan was one of the longest tenured Partners of Wellington Management Company in the EMEA region. He joined Hoku Inc. in October 2024 and launched “Aya,” a concentrated Japan small-mid cap long-only strategy, in July 2025.

Dan has developed a unique perspective on small and mid cap investing while living and working in Europe, US and Asia. As part of that journey Dan has developed extensive Japan specific expertise through living, working and studying in Japan for over 20 years.

Dan graduated from the University of Birmingham where he completed a dual degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Commerce, with the Commerce side of the degree being

completed at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. Dan also holds an MSc in International Money, Banking & Finance, achieved with Distinction, from University of Birmingham. Dan is bilingual in both written and spoken Japanese.

欧州、米国、アジアでの豊富な業務・滞在経験に加え、日本在住は20年におよび、日本市場に対する深い洞察力を有する。2024年10月にHOKU株式会社へ参画し、2025年7月に日本中小型株ロング・オンリー戦略 綾（Aya）をローンチ。

英国バーミンガム大学にてエンジニアリングおよび商学の学士号を取得（商学課程は一橋大学にて修了）。同大学院にて国際金融・銀行学の修士号を成績優秀（Distinction）で取得。日本語・英語のバイリンガル。CFA協会認定証券アナリスト。
