In late June, the KLF team had a meeting with Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of Department of Health (DH) to learn more about the public HPV vaccine programme. The Centre of Health Protection is responsible for recommending vaccines to the Hong Kong Childhood Immunisation Programme (HKCIP), which will add the HPV vaccine for Primary 5 girls starting this school year of 2019/20. In addition, CHP is in charge of health education to students, parents and schools. During the meeting, the KLF team shared experiences and success factors from our HPV school vaccination programme, and emphasized the importance of the educational component.

KLF hopes the new public HPV vaccine programme to be successful. And as a result, more girls will be protected from cervical cancer.
