Protect your future health today. The Department of Health has launched a one-off HPV Vaccination Catch-up Programme for eligible female Hong Kong residents born between 2004 and 2008. This time-limited programme runs in three phases from 2024 to 2026, and the third phase has started from 26 June 2025.
Why HPV Vaccination Matters
- HPV vaccine helps prevent cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers and diseases.
- It is generally safe and has been provided to Primary 5 and 6 school girls under the Hong Kong Childhood Immunisation Programme since the 2019/20 school year.
- Vaccination now helps boost community (“herd”) immunity and protects you and those you love.
Who Is Eligible? (Catch-up Programme)
Female Hong Kong residents who:
- Were born between 2004 and 2008, and
- Have not completed the HPV vaccination series under Government programmes,can receive HPV vaccination free of charge through this one-off Catch-up Programme.
Each eligible person can receive two doses of HPV vaccine free of charge. Immunocompromised persons can receive three doses free of charge (according to professional recommendations).
Phases and Target Groups
- Phase I
Full-time female students (including secondary sections of special schools) studying Secondary 5 or above (or equivalent grade) in Hong Kong- Vaccination via Outreach Vaccination Teams
- Phase II
Female Hong Kong residents born between 2004 and 2008 studying in local post‑secondary institutions or universities- Vaccination via Outreach Vaccination Teams / Healthcare Services Clinics of Institutions
- Phase III (Now in Progress)
Female Hong Kong residents born between 2004 and 2008 who have not yet completed HPV vaccination under the Government Programme- Vaccination via Women Wellness Satellites (WWSs) / WWS Service Points / designated District Health Centres (DHC) / DHC Express
All eligible persons must be registered with eHealth before joining the programme.
