Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we approach the end of 2017, in some ways it feels like everything has nearly sped up to the New Year already. But before we bid a farewell to 2017, we want to reflect on the changes, challenges, accomplishments throughout this year, and to thank you, our friends, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers. 

We held two very successful fundraising events this year – the Sohn Hong Kong Investment Conference on June 7, and the Cocktails for a Cause event on October 19 - with both events topping the amounts of donations raised in previous years.  
 
We are also thrilled to announce that we won a grant through 100 Women in Finance this year. The 100WF’s annual Hong Kong Fundraising Gala took place in November, and we were honoured to have been the recipient of the 100WF and its members’ generosity, which allows us to announce that a further HK$ 2.6 million was raised that will help fight gynaecological cancers in Hong Kong.  More information on the 100WF and the great work that they do globally and in Hong Kong is available on their website.


We also upgraded our website and simplified the site navigation in order to create a better user experience and to make it easier to access the information we have made available.  Another new feature that is important for the sustainability of the Foundation is the option to donate to KLF on a monthly basis – we hope you’ll consider this option to maximize your giving and support for the Foundation.

Because this is the season of giving (and year-end tidying up), we are clearing out any unclaimed prize donations and hence have prepared for a small Christmas special for all of our supporters. The first donors to sign up to our new monthly donation scheme will be entered into a 'Mystery Prize Draw'.  Please visit our website for the list of prizes and the rules for the 'Mystery Draw'.

Last but not least, I would like to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support, feedback and time, without you none of what KLF does would be possible. I wish you all very happy holidays and a fabulous start to the New Year.

Program Updates

SOHN Hong Kong 2017 donations put to work 

This week the first two schools took part in the ‘Mother & Daughter Project’ which we announced at the SOHN Hong Kong 2017 conference. Over 400 girls received the life-saving HPV vaccine entirely free of charge and we have another five schools scheduled for January.

We also filmed a new video with some of the girls who were vaccinated. Please see a few pictures of the shoot to illustrate how excited and thankful the young ladies are to receiving free information around the vaccine and take part in the program.
