Mr. Nakayama joined Polymer in August 2023 as a portfolio manager of Japan equity (long-only) portfolios.

Mr. Nakayama began his career in 1993 as an equity analyst at Nippon Life Insurance Company and became a Japan equity portfolio manager in 1998. He spent eleven years in total with the Nippon Life group, including five years at Nissay Asset Management. He then spent one year at the Japan Institute for Social and Economic Affairs, an affiliate organization of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren).

In 2005, he joined JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management as a Japan equity portfolio manager. In 2006, he was appointed as lead portfolio manager of their flagship retail product, “JF The Japan” fund, which he managed for eighteen years until he left the firm in March 2023. During this time, he received a series of awards from Lipper Japan, Morningstar Japan, and R&I (Rating and Investment Information).

Mr. Nakayama is a Certified Member Analyst of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan. He is the author of “逆転の思考法” (“Reversal Thinking”, 2023).
