The Karen Leung Foundation is pleased to announce its latest successful advocacy effort in collaboration with the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Yokohama City University School of Medicine Japan. Our organization has lent support to the promotion of cervical cancer and HPV vaccination in Japan by participating in the production of a video and social media campaign. This campaign was based on research that examined the impact of sharing web-based cervical cancer survivor stories with parents and their subsequent willingness to have their children vaccinated. Ultimately, the campaign proved to be highly effective, reaching over 2.7 million individuals.

As a result of this success, we are excited to commence Phase 2 of the Japan Program, in which we will assess the effectiveness of SNS videos on HPV vaccine uptake through a randomized controlled trial. This effort will be conducted in partnership with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Yokohama City University School of Medicine, and will take place against the backdrop of the free catchup HPV vaccine program, which includes the 9-valent HPV vaccine for women aged 18-25 in Japan.

Two thousand women will benefit from this important research, which we believe will contribute significantly to raising awareness about cervical cancer and HPV vaccination in Japan. Ultimately, we are committed to supporting women's health and promoting a brighter future for all.
