The Karen Leung Foundation is proud to present its annual Sohn Hong Kong Investment Leaders Conference on May 30, 2025 at the Asia Society, and with that it’s inaugural “BIG PITCH” idea.

SOHN HK is part of a series of global Sohn Conference Foundation events that gather the world’s most successful investors to learn from and connect throughout the year.

Funds raised will directly benefit the work of the Karen Leung Foundation to support female healthcare initiatives in Hong Kong and beyond. Across the last 12 years, the event has raised over 30 million to support the community.

Big Pitch Competition Information

The competition is intended to encourage ambitious undergraduates studying in Hong Kong and provide a real-world understanding of presenting an investment idea in front of the leading global investment minds. Two finalist teams will be selected based on the judges' determination of the most compelling investment idea over a one-year horizon.

Two pre-selected finalists will present their investment idea in front of approximately 300 people at the renowned Sohn HK Investment Conference.  The winners will be put forward for internship programs at selected participating investment firms.

Participating universities are responsible for internal communication, team configuration and adhering to competition timelines.  Teams can be made up of individuals or a maximum of two per team.  Students must be undergraduate or postgraduate students studying at selected universities. A maximum of 15 submissions per university will be accepted. All travel, costs and expenses are the responsibility of the individual.

April 1-8      Judges’ panel due diligence and selection process  

April 25       Big Pitch Top10 teams announced

                    University participants will be notified by KLF of the Big Pitch Top10 on or before April 25, 2025.

                    The top 10 will present an abbreviated version of the final pitch to the judges.

                    Appointment timings and details to be confirmed closer to the date.

May 5        Top two team finalists announced

May 5-19   Mentoring & coaching by Judges

May 21      Presentation material submission deadline

                  All presentation material for the Big Pitch live presentations to be sent to:

                  PPT format:16x9 with video, music, gif files sent separately to avoid technical issues on the day.

May 30      On stage Big Pitch presentation. 

                  Each finalist team will be allocated 7 mins to present live.
