Awareness
Posted on 22 April, 2024
The biggest issue affecting the fight for cervical cancer in Hong Kong is critically low screening rates.
We understand how inconvenient, uncomfortable, and costly accessing screening can be. Women are also often embarrassed or feel that they don’t have time for their pap smear.
KLF consistently makes efforts to engage more women in taking HPV screening by:
- Making it easier for women to access testing
- Providing more information about the importance of testing and who should get tested
- Offering support to empower women to take control of their health.
This time, KLF is honoured to partner with PHASE Scientific to launch a campaign benefiting all women with preventive but non-invasive HPV screenings!
Campaign Goals
“Yes We Can 1+1 End Cervical Cancer” is dedicated to empowering women to prioritize their cervical health. Through this campaign, we will provide free HPV urine testing to underprivileged women in Hong Kong, ensuring they have access to vital screening resources. The sooner we screen, the faster women can get treatment, the more lives are saved.
Why It’s Important?
Cervical cancer is a highly preventable disease, yet it continues to affect countless women, especially those in underprivileged communities. By providing free screening resources and raising awareness, we can save lives and reduce the burden of cervical cancer on society.
Who Will Benefit?
The campaign targets two groups of women in need: low-income grassroots women and vulnerable young girls facing unexpected pregnancies.
How does the campaign operate? 1+1 – Doubling the impact!
PHASE Scientific has a 1+1 matching system. For every HPV urine test donated by a corporation, PHASE Scientific will match it with an additional test, effectively doubling our efforts to support those in need. The KLF has been allocated 100 test kits.
