Project Teal III – Impact report and results.
Project Teal III launched in June 2020 and the project provided over 600 women with free cervical cancer screening.
Our partners, the University of Hong Kong, conducted deep research and analysis to study the current cervical cancer screening situation in Hong Kong as part of this intervention and we are pleased to announce that the research results have been published by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
In summary by funding the research project, KLF aimed to
-
Understand the current barriers for women not to opt-in for cervical cancer screening.
-
Compare traditional cervical cancer testing methods to innovative approaches such as HPV self-testing.
-
Understand the best testing mode and service delivery method during the pandemic.
Based on the results, KLF and all project partners are preparing for a final round of project TEAL in 2023 whereby we look to increase the intake of women beyond < 1000 women and redefine the study protocol. Stay tuned for more updates and read the final impact report here.
