Dear Friends and Supporters:
It has been exactly a month since the SOHN Hong Kong Investment Conference 2017 and our team has been busy since. The event was extremely successful with overall fundraising of HKD 3.2 million associated with the event. To view details please see http://www.sohnconference.org/hong-kong/.
It was also at the conference, where we launched the “Mother & Daughter Project” – a cervical cancer prevention initiative. The new project builds upon the success of our previous school-based HPV vaccination project. This new project will continue to provide low-income families with free access to the lifesaving vaccine for young girls and will also offer free cervical cancer screening for mothers. If you still wish to contribute to the project simply do so by donating here https://karenleungfoundation.org/donate/.
We have also included in this newsletter some more updates on our 2017 programs, recent milestones and forthcoming events.
We hope to speak, see or hear you soon and in the meantime, we wish you a lovely summer!
With warmest regards,
Your KLF team

KLF team updates
Many of you met our new Executive Director Katharina Reimer at the SOHN HK 2017 event and were able to meet her in person. Katharina comes to us with experience in working with both public and financial sector companies in the areas of fundraising, advocacy, and marketing communications. Being a passionate advocate for philanthropic causes around women’s and family health as well as education, she has served on several philanthropic committees and foundation boards.
We also recently appointed a new Administrative Support Manager, Swana Lau to help us grow the Foundation and build a foundation to scale the organization and the support we provide to the community. We will benefit from Swana’s significant executive experience. During her career Swana has worked with several international law firms, assisting them with both client-facing and back-of-house administration functions. Her vibrant personality, enthusiasm and passion for helping others will be a huge asset to the foundation and its growth.
KLF program updates
While we are working on a screening pilot with Christian Action, Central Health, and Roche Diagnostics, we are also looking to launch our ‘Brown Bag’ luncheon series this summer. This new education and awareness program will be specifically tailored to reach young women in financial services firms. Women in all socio-economic levels struggle to balance work and personal life, and often place other demands ahead of their own health needs. We invite you to view a short video of some of our supporters who work within the industry.

The talks will address the importance of preventive cancer screening. KLF would welcome the opportunity to partner with you and your firm. Please contact us to schedule an educational health talk for your firm!
