On the Sunday of August 11, 2019, the Karen Leung Foundation held its summer cervical screening session for domestic workers. The sessions were very well attended and featured the innovative self-collection method for cervical screening, wherein the test is conducted by the females themselves rather than a medical professional, to address common screening uptake barriers such as embarrassment and cultural stigma.

During the session, KLF staff held a health talk to share the importance of preventative cervical screening test and simple instruction on the self-collection method. Thereafter all the attendees received their test kit and conducted the tests privately. Feedbacks from the participants were very positive.

We hope all participants will share the prevention message with their loved one and implement the routine screening to prevent cervical cancer.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the participants, our partners, supporters and volunteers.
