According to KLF’s latest research, KLF found many gynaecological cancer survivors, regardless of the cancer types, reported not only a negative impact on their sexuality, but also their mental health as well as partner and spousal relationships. However, the current health rehabilitation support for gynaecological cancer patients is not sufficient. Therefore, to fill in the service gap, as well as help the physiological and psychological recovery of patients and assist in improving the patients’ relationships with their partners, KLF aims to establish a center-based rehabilitation support service, which is open to all gynaecological cancer survivors to receive sexual rehabilitation services and counseling.
Cancer survivorship focuses on the health and life of a person with cancer post treatment until the end of life. Family members, friends, and caregivers are also considered part of the survivorship experience. This new KLF project aims to provide long term impact to support the recovery of survivors from a physical and psychological perspective, and as a result, bring about better survivorship and reduce the negative impact of gynaecological cancers on the whole society.
